In the course of twenty years, Jim Longnecker, President of Human Capital Consulting, has been privileged to study under and work with some great thinkers in a wide variety of settings. His clients, past and present, are partial testimony to the depth and breadth of the "rubber meets the road" type of scenarios in which Mr. Longnecker has been successful. Under the guidance of Dr. David Whitsett and Dr. Augustine Osman at University of Northern Iowa, Mr. Longnecker developed an appreciation for applied areas of Industrial Organizational Psychology and for human metrics, with opportunities to participate and drive projects dealing with team building, organizational change, self-directed work teams, and studying the effects of decentralization vs. centralization of HR functions. He was *published as a co-author in the Journal of Clinical Psychology while at UNI. At Auburn University, Mr. Longnecker continued his exploration and development with the goal of having proposed projects fund his graduate student position at the Auburn Technical Assistance Center (ATN) and his graduate schooling. He accomplished this while providing executive consulting services for Collins Signs, Inc., who enlisted him to manage the recruitment and inception of a large number of employees to manufacture product for the CVS Pharmacy national changeover. He was then enlisted to conduct executive team development, organizational communications/flow re-engineering, and other projects central to profitable and rapid growth. As the General Manager of Jim Mudd and Associates, he had additional opportunities to apply his craft while he gained what proved to be crucial experiences in marketing and sales; this skill set has proven to be instrumental in his ability to found and develop Human Capital Consulting into a profitable and viable business. Additional experiences as an executive management team member and/or conultant have further enriched Mr. Longnecker's KSAs, helped him further understand the pressures and rewards of entreprenuership, and given him a deep appreciation for business issues germane to clients' real interests and questions. HCC clients benefit from Mr. Longnecker's broad experiences, as he is able and willing to draw from his failures and successes, past and present, to provide executive levels of conceptual and practical guidance. |
